News Update Feb 10
Another new season begins here at Bradgate Brides. The website is having a good response from brides outside Leicestershire and we are seeing brides from Northamptonshire,Warwickshire, Derbyshire. Notts and even Birmingham on a more regular basis. One young lady came from Ireland because her best friend had previously had her gown from us and she was therefore well recommended!!
January has been manic , as usual and February is continuing in the same way. However If it were any otherway we would be extremely worried...On the staff front we all have settled back down to work after what seemed a very long January and we are all looking forward to clearer skies and warmer weather. NOTE....AS SOON AS POSSIBLE PLEASE.....we've had to pay a fortune to clean the main bridal salon carpet twice since xmas..... The staff are all going to the City Rooms in leicester for a fundraising eveing for Carly's daughter Bella next week so hopefully as well as having a good night out lots of money will be raised for Bella's future care. Jo has been off work for a couple of weeks, busily painting her house, and Emily is taking like a duck to water to her new apprentice seamstress role!!! Well done Emily...and bravo to Yvonne for her endless patience not only with training but with the endless stream of brides and maids in and out of her room with every type of alteration possible.
Just for the record, we are extremely sad to see the amount of Bridal stores that have been closing for one reason or another over the past 18months and we'd like to reassure all of our brides present and future, that WE ARE HERE TO STAY AND ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE!!!!! Bradgate Brides actually own the building we operate from and we are extremely busy all year round so please do not worry about the bad press that Bridal Salons are receiving at the present time.
Bradgate Brides now have our new season bridesmaids in store ready for the coming season with all the new colour palettes. Alfred Angelo/Dessy and Raylia are all great dresses and you must make certain you don't leave ordering too late as rush orders are very expensive!! Leave 16 to 20 weeks before your wedding date please at least. Remember that we have the largest selection in the Midlands and order at least 100 maids outfits every month of the year. That's a lot of dresses!!!! (Our poor prepration lady...she has to check and iron every single one ready for the first fit).!!
Every month we shall feature one of our brides on our news page.
February Bride of the Month 2010 - KIRSTY |
|
|
For FEBRUARY our bride is KIRSTY who first came into our salon in January 2009 . She tried on a number of gowns and fell in love with a stunning gown called Lucrezia by Raylia Designs with a corset back and made in an incredible silk covered in beads and lace. It had a vintage loook to it with a lovely ornate diamante brooch at the front of a sweetheart neckline.
Kirsty came back into the salon to retry the gown in Mid January and the gown was put on order. During April, Aggie the bridesmaid came in and selected a lovely concorde grape coloured evening gown which was delivered at the same time as Kirsty's gown in June. A gorgeous pair of Dianna Hassell slingbacks handmade in beautiful light gold fabric were chosen to complement Lucrzia together with a hollywood style marabou feather stole in gold. Aggie wasn't left out and had her own little stole selected in Ivory fake faux. Steph altered the gown beautifuly to fit like a glove and a bustle was done to keep the gown off the floor at the reception and it was steamed and prepared for collecion at the beginning of December. As you can see from the photos Kirsty really looked fabulous and it was in keeping for a December wedding. A touch of glam most definately!
