New Gowns and a busy January!!!
Posted on 29th January 2012
I didn,t mention earlier that the salon was opened for the first time between Xmas and New Year and it was mad busy!
It was great for the mums to come in with their daughters who live away and vice versa.
One bride,s mum was over from Australia and it was her only chance to see her daughter try gowns on before her September wedding. Gemma selected a stunning full lace Benjamin Roberts and it was so nice that her mum could be with her.  The clearance room was steady and of course it was an opportune time for any bride to get all her maids together over this period. We now have the usual January madness with deliveries daily of brides gowns , lots of trying on and accessorising and many new brides booking appointments weekly to view gowns for weddings from July right the way through to the end of December 2013. Yes, some brides do look as early as this and especially if they fall in love with a gown, we can do a remeasure much nearer the wedding date and of course they have the benefit of paying just a small amount monthly.

The new Maggie gowns are now all in almost and this season,s  Benjamin Roberts new ones like the dress on the right, Tiarella, which has a stunning removeable lace overlay with a simple sheath gown underneath for the reception is very impressive . Take a look on their page and you will see all the new images.

Vintage, vintage, vintage!!!!! Please look at our Anouska G gowns, simply divine and unusual and all the staff want to wear one! I took LOUCIA to the Hilton fayre  fayre recently and everyone just adored it. I for one never have time to try any gowns on but I am going to make one exception for this special gown! This will definately shock the girls!

We often receive letters of thanks and even cake and flowers sometimes, and today in our guest book on reception we had two lovely comments. One was from a young lady I served last week with a lovely prom dress from Flirt and she,d written how lovely it had been and she was looking forward to seeing us again when she becomes a bride, then in brackets had put, (I,m 16 at present)........... That was sweet. Plus a great note from one of our future brides to be Kelly who had written she loves us all and the shop and her whole family had at some time been either a bride, maid or had hired suits from us!  This really makes us all work even harder and try as much as we can to assist as many brides to be as we can as it gives all the staff a boost to hear such lovely remarks.
Please don,t forget you can purchase many of our lovely classic items on line now and take a look at our new range of bridal shoes. These are an incredible price and they all look far more expensive, are really comfortable and definately have the wow factor. You can view any styles in store also and we are gradually buidling up a fabulous range of accessories for customers to order on line.
That,s it again for today ciao Susannexxxx (I have my Italian to practice now so I'm hoping my daughter who can speak French and Spanish can help me! It's so much harder learning another language when you are older but I'm determined to try!),

Welcome to Florie our new stylist.
Posted on 5th December 2011

Welcome to my second ever blog! I'm very new to this so hopefully I will soon be a dab hand. The Autumn season was much busier than anticipated and we have taken on a new stylist who is busy training now for the mad January ahead. We are lucky enough to have secured Florie who has studied Fashion and Contour Design at Leicester De Montfort University and has decided to come and assist us for retail experience to add to her vast knowledge of the construction of the gowns. She will be full time from January and will partner our fabulous Joanne and Hilary in the main salon as well as learning all the etiquette of the  bridesmaid suite. We are hoping that after our brand new Bradgate Brides Plus collection has been launched in the Spring that Florie can assist with the next collection to bring some fresh ideas to our brides.

We haven't finalised all of our wedding fayres for the Spring however I have started to place dates on the site for you to make a note of them. If you love Ebony Rose bridesmaids then we have a treat in store for you! The whole collection is available to view in store at the end of February for one whole weekend! I suggest taking a look at some of the designs beforehand to see how glamourous and lovely they all with lots of matching juniors and flowergirls. (* ordering in February will bring the gowns into us in July onwards so if your wedding is before then , you really should be looking NOW)!

All our new season gowns are gradually arriving and we have at least 45 from Maggie Sottero, Benjamin Roberts , Alfred Angelo and AnouskaG. All of these the girls and I have carefully selected out of the 100's we have seen at catwalks and we have been patiently waiting for them to arrive! All images will of course be placed on here for you to peruse through our amazing collection. They all hopefully will be in the salon by the end of January/mid February. AND we now have the incredible gown that Bella wore in the 'TWILIGHT' film to marry Edward Cullen. It is a slim line gown with lovely long lace sleeves and a very low cut back. The front is plain and tight fitting, It actually would look fabulous with a long veil', and would be perfect for a destination wedding also. It is priced under £600 so if you loved the gown there's no excuse for trying it on!

Our installment plan is really assisting our brides and many have taken us up on paying for their gowns over a 12 to 18 month period. We even have a few brides who trust us and like our salon so much they have been in, settled on a budget and are paying installments off BEFORE selecting their gown. It is a bit like a credit account which they can utilise when they are ready to try on the new season gowns. This is so different to when I first started many years ago when a bride only visited one salon, paid in full and then waited for her gown to arrive. How times have changed. I am certain that in the future it will be like the States where most shops are help yourself off the rail in enormous warehouses. I'm hoping that will be after my time at least!!

I am taking all the staff out to see 42nd street at the Curve theatre in Leicester just before Xmas and we are having a meal beforehand at San Carlo so we are all looking forward to our Xmas jolly! We are doing a secret santa each and I'm busy thinking of what pressie to wrap up in mine! So I hope everyone has a great Xmas and a Happy New Year and for lots of you it will be the last time you will be single!!! Next year you will be a MRS!!  Love Susanne and the TeamXXX

New Bradgate Brides Website!
Posted on 13th September 2011

Wow! Our first ever Blog on our new revamped site – we are all so excited! The aim was to make this really user friendly for all our brides and brides to be and to show as many of our gowns as possible that we have in our salon. AND we promise that as soon as new gowns arrive (which is generally twice a year), we’ll keep it updated.

All our lovely brides that send us e mail images will be included in our bridal gallery so please take a look and we have introduced , at the request of our brides, a Pay Pal facility for friends and family to purchase gift vouchers to give to the bride on any birthday or Xmas. This will be a great way of being assisted with the wedding purchases without blatantly asking for cash!!

Bradgate Brides new season gowns are all in now and ready to be tried on and we have lots of exciting new bridesmaids from Dessy, Social Occasion and Ebony Rose. Styles are getting bolder, colours brighter and the fabrics are changing to chiffon and taffeta with only a few styles remaining in satin.

We have had a really busy summer and our alterations ladies Audrey and Stephanie have worked tirelessly and we are very proud of them both for keeping up with our demands and brides arriving at every hour of the day and night.

The wedding fayres are now in full swing , see enclosed list for dates and we are visiting the bridal trade show Harrogate this month to select new gowns and products that we will not receive until early next spring to tempt all you lovely brides to be.

Great news is that Susy one of our stylists is now engaged so she will be busy trying on gowns and we’ve just had a photo shoot in store with a fabulous white barn own that you can have to fly down the aisle with your ring for you!!! We all were really impressed and although a little apprehensive as to whether the ring would arrive safely,(we could just see the groom jumping around chasing the owl out of the church for the ring)!!! , everything was just fine and the owl very well trained flying around with it’s wings outstretched in our main salon, so if you want something a little bit exciting and different just look onto our links page for contact details.

Well I could just keep writing and writing.. alas you won’t be able to view any gowns if I do, so until our next blog !! xx
