About Bradgate Brides
In the beginning....
Bradgate Brides began in a tiny thatched roof cottage opposite the famous Bradgate Park in North West Leicestershire, only 6 miles out of the City Centre. It was an absolutely blissful setting to select ‘dream’ gowns and the appointment book quickly became full accommodating visiting brides as the lovely boudoir became Leicestershire’s premier bridal salon, albeit a very small one!
Early in 2007, we purchased a lovely old 1860 building on 4 floors and refurbished it to a high standard and moved in with all our gowns and began offering a separate bridesmaid suite, evening wear, menswear hire, seamstress service and fabulous reception/accessory area.
Bridal Salon
Bradgate Brides is a busy salon and we are totally computerised and have a full time receptionist to answer calls on three lines and to open the door to customers. Staff include four bridal stylists, suit hire manageress, two seamstresses, office back up, preparation lady, receptionist and a Saturday girl. Our reputation has thankfully spread, due obviously to our lovely brides who have had a good experience with us and brides locally and from all over the UK visit us. We also recently have had brides from Slovakia, Poland, Italy, Spain and Germany purchase gowns from us whilst visiting relatives in the Midlands and have been very happy to come back to us once their gown arrived for final alterations before transporting back to their country!
Susanne selects each and every gown and ensures that whoever walks into our salon receives exactly the same treatment whether they wish to purchase one bridesmaid dress or an amazing bridal gown. It is getting difficult with brides purchasing from warehouses and the internet, however we believe that if a bride truly wishes to have a good experience and great back up if anything should go wrong right up until the wedding day, customers will continue to visit us.
Here to Help...
If you need our help at any time, we'll do our best to assist. One bride called us on a busy Saturday at 12.30pm to say in a panic that her mother had spilt coffee on her laces just before her wedding, and asked if we could do anything!! A member of staff took laces from a stock gown, drove 25miles away, and reached the bride 10mins before the wedding. Bounding from the car with the laces in hand, all the neighbours cheered and watched as skilful hands swiftly made the gown look how it should and assisted the bride into her vintage car and waved her off, then of course drove back to carry on dressing brides that were trying on in the salon!
This is not a service we charge for, it comes as part of our job. It is a bride's own decision when she decides to utilise a salon such as Bradgate Brides or another avenue of purchasing her gown without this back up.

Many brides send us e mails thanking our stylists for assisting them EVEN when they have found another gown elsewhere, and they always pop back in for an accessory or two and to say ‘hello’ once again and revisit to order maids outfits.
